Hang in there

Flushing: To Christopher Mari (“The man with the sign and me,” Op-Ed, Sept. 13): Keep up the faith and don’t give up on Jesus because of Judas. The priests who abused are Judases, along with those who cover for them, but they are not the Church. They are members of the Church, just as Judas was one of the disciples. The man with the sign calling the Church to account for abuse who suffered as a young man wants you and others to lose their faith because people who are hurting often want to hurt others. Stay strong in your faith, and pray for the man with the sign.
