The Rikers scam

Brooklyn: As always, both the Dems and GOP are lying to us taxpayers, this time regarding closing Rikers, which was a scam on taxpayers from the start. (You put a prison on an island. You should never ever put a jail on an island because you have to drive detainees back and forth to courts in five different boroughs, every day and night. Totally insane.) They can close Rikers today and never need to build another jail again. You are being lied to, so the establishment can steal billions more to build fake new jails. To close Rikers, the one thing we need to do is get the city’s judges to read the Bill of Rights and that very specific part about excessive bail. We know if bail is excessive by one simple, easy test: Has the detainee been in jail more than three days, punished prior to conviction? Then the bail is too damn high.
