No bail for Junior slay susp
The 14th suspect in the shocking mistakenidentity murder of a Bronx teen was ordered held without bail Monday as a prosecutor described the details of a killing that continues to shock the city.
“I’m innocent," Frederick Then, 20, said in Spanish as he was led from the 48th Precinct stationhouse Sunday after he was busted for the June 20 murder of Lesandro (Junior) Guzman-Feliz, 16.
Not so, said Assistant District Attorney Morgan Dolan at Then’s arraignment Monday.
“This defendant is alleged to have pursued an individual known as Junior throughout the streets of the Bronx,” Dolan said. "There’s video surveillance capturing his pursuit on foot of Junior that led to Junior going into the bodega, where he was pulled out and killed by members of the Trinitarios gang."
Then is a member of that gang, Dolan said.
Junior, an aspiring NYPD detective, was stabbed and slashed to death, including with a machete.
Then is among a number of suspects who chased Junior into the Cruz and Chiky Grocery in Belmont and were not involved in the actual attack, authorities said.
His lawyer, Larry Sheehan, had no comment.
