- ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING RULES ARE IN EFFECT FRIDAY AND SATURDAY SAM SCHWARTZ

Gridlock Week arrives Sunday! Yes, it’s that time of year folks when more than 100 world leaders descend on NYC for the UN General Assembly. And when they move about — you don’t!

The biggest impact is when POTUS travels because everything is “frozen” including pedestrians and bike riders. Trump comes home Sunday mid-afternoon meaning a shutdown of the FDR Drive from the Battery to 63rd St. Sometime around 4 p.m. all avenues from First to Fifth will “freeze.” All week long, avoid Trump Tower area meaning 5th and Madison, 55th to 57th St. and the area around the Palace Hotel on Madison between 50th and 51st streets. Bus riders on Fifth will be disrupted at times and M-50 buses will be rerouted much of the week. Check Sunday’s paper for more details on UNGA and the Gridlock Alert Days (weekdays with Tuesday being the worst of the worst traffic) and follow @GridlockSam on Twitter.

The Yankees are home against the Orioles tonight at 7, Saturday 4 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m., letting out about 4 p.m. just as UNGA security tightens in Midtown East, and the FDR closes. Please, take the train to the game!

Ed Sheeran performs at MetLife Stadium tonight and Saturday 7 p.m., slowing the Hudson River crossings.

Madison Square Garden has 8 p.m. concerts Friday (Paul Simon) and Saturday (Ozuna).

“Sesame Street Live” is 5:30 p.m. Friday at Barclays, and 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Eighth Ave. is closed Saturday 14th to 23rd Sts. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The American Muslim Day Parade is on Madison Ave. 24th to 36th Sts. 1 to 4 p.m. Amsterdam Ave. is closed 110th to 106th St. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Brooklyn’s Eighth Ave. is closed 49th to 68th Sts. 1 to 3 p.m. for the Autumn Moon and Lantern Parade.

Atlantic Ave. is closed between Fourth Ave. and Hicks St. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A van has parked in front of our business for two months. Can we do anything, is there a law?

Yes. No vehicle is allowed to park for more than seven consecutive days in the same spot. If the van is a commercial vehicle, the limit is three hours, unless it’s loading or unloading. Call your local precinct and 311 and let me know if you don’t get results.
