Engram exits with knee injury

HOUSTON — One third of the Giants’ dynamic offensive attack is ailing.

Tight end Evan Engram, who along with Odell Beckham and rookie Saquon Barkley make up the Giants’ explosive triple threat on offense, left Sunday’s game in the second quarter with a right knee injury that he sustained on a low Kareem Jackson hit at the end of a 19-yard completion.

Engram did not know the severity of the injury, something Pat Shurmur echoed.

“We don’t know how bad it is,” said Shurmur.

Engram stayed on the sidelines and watched the game after being downgraded to out.

Defensive tackle Damon Harrison (team-high seven tackles) also limped off in the fourth quarter and appeared to be gimpy, moving slowly around the locker room. It’s unknown what his injury is or how serious it might be.

“I saw him come hobbling out a little bit,” Shurmur said of Harrison. “I don’t know yet. I think he’s OK.”

Saquon Barkley took a series off after taking a shot to the right knee also from the Texans’ Jackson but returned. Corner Antonio Hamilton hurt his groin in warmups and never got in the game.
