Police believe a former boyfriend was responsible for fatally shooting a woman in the neck as she walked down a Brooklyn street with a new beau, cops said Saturday.

Sabrina Moreno, 21, was walking down Van Siclen Ave. near Pitkin Ave. in East New York with her new boyfriend just before 7 p.m. on Friday when the gunman stepped out of the shadows and opened fire, hitting the young woman in the neck.

“I just heard two shots. When I came outside she was just laying there, people were yelling call the police,” witness Kendu Hasain, 54, said.

As witness Jamaal Zakary happened by the scene, Moreno was on the ground gasping for air. Her new boyfriend was by her side.

“I saw her lying with a shot in her neck,” said the 18-yearold Zakary, who works at a nearby bodega. “The man was crying and shaking her head.”

Medics rushed Moreno to Brookdale University Hospital, where she died.

No arrests have been made, although police believe the shooter is a former boyfriend, sources with knowledge of the case said.

Cops have not identified the gunman.
