NYPD bigs’ son charged with DWI

An off-duty NYPD detective who is the son of two retired police bigwigs was busted on drunken driving charges after he crashed into parked cars on a Harlem street, police said Monday.

Nalik Zeigler, 35, was arrested about 10:30 p.m. after crashing on W. 132rd St. near Lenox Ave., authoritie­s said. He was charged with DWI and refusing to take a Breathalyz­er test. He was released without bail Monday.

Zeigler is the son of NYPD Deputy Commission­er of Equal Employment Opportunit­iy Neldra Zeigler, who retired in June, and retired Chief Douglas Zeigler, who headed the department's Community Affairs Bureau, sources said. He was the NYPD's highest-ranking African American cop when he retired in June 2010.

Nalik Zeigler is assigned to the NYPD's Intelligen­ce Division. He was suspended without pay.
