Trump, Biden trade blows at Nevada stump spots

American values “are being shredded by a President who's all about himself,” former Vice President Joe Biden railed Saturday at a pre-midterm political rally in Nevada.

The potential 2020 White House challenger took aim at President Trump as he stumped for Democratic candidates in Las Vegas ahead of November's election.

Trump hosted a competing rally about 600 miles away, wrapping up a whirlwind tour of Western states where he hit the trail for host of Republican candidates — including some incumbents facing tough reelection battles.

The political heavyweights exchanged blows as they sparred from a distance and offered inherently different visions of America.

Biden said the United States was founded “on an idea, the American idea, basic fundamental decency, and it's being shredded.”

The lifelong Democrat proudly spoke of values long admired by other countries that helped the U.S. build “the great alliances in literally the history of the world.”

“But, my God, think of what's going on now,” Biden lamented, bemoaning that those values “are being shredded by a president who's all about himself. It's all about Donald.”

Trump had some fun as he polled the rowdy crowd rural Elko on which nickname would be better for Biden: “Sleepy Joe” or “1% Joe.”

Trump also scoffed at the idea of a “blue wave” sweeping more Democrats to Congress on Election Day. “All the Democrats want is power and they've got this blue wave deal going. Not looking like a blue wave.”

Biden warned that Republicans will soon be looking to slash health care, with cuts to Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare on the horizon thanks to the GOP tax plan, should they retain power on Capitol Hill.

“It's time to get up, lift our heads up, remember who the hell we are,” Biden said.
