25 to life for hotel killing

- BY JOHN ANNESE

A Brooklyn man was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years to life in prison for killing a mother of four, leaving her naked and bruised body in a hotel room — even as he faces trial for a similar slaying in Manhattan.

A jury last month found Joseph Danclair, 40, guilty of killing Chrissy Bevelaqua, 34, a Staten Island mom of four at the Bushwick Hotel in East Williamsburg on July 23, 2015.

Bevelaqua, left on a bed with bruises on her head and neck, was killed by compression of her neck and chest, an autopsy determined.

Brooklyn Supreme Court Judge Dineen Riviezzo handed down the sentence.

Danclair is also accused of killing Antoinette Marin, 43, on Sept. 8, 2015, in the Manhattan Broadway Hotel in Midtown. He told cops Marin never woke up after a night of drug use and rough sex, but an autopsy determined she, too, died from compression of the neck and chest. That case is pending in Manhattan Supreme Court.

In a separate Brooklyn case, Danclair faces charges of a criminal sex act and sex abuse in an Aug. 23, 2015, attack of a 34-year-old woman he picked up at a Starbucks in Union Square.

Sources told The News Danclair took the victim to an empty building on Blake Ave. in Brooklyn, where he forced her to disrobe, snort heroin and perform a sex act. When he fell asleep, the victim fled to the 73rd Precinct stationhouse, sources said.
