Police are searching for a hitand-run driver who killed a 65-year-old man as he fixed a flat tire on a Brooklyn street.

Iosif Morgenshteyn, of Staten Island, was repairing a flat tire on the driver’s side of his white 2017 Lexus on Shore Parkway near E. 28th St. in Sheepshead Bay when a white Toyota minivan struck him around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Anthony Hernandez, 26, left his nearby home to check out the crash and saw EMS workers trying to save Morgenshteyn.

“I’ve never seen a man having CPR done on him like that,” said Hernandez. “That shook me up. I couldn’t believe what I saw. I feel so bad for him. Rest his soul.”

Medics rushed Morgenshteyn to Coney Island Hospital, where he died.

Cops found the minivan (photo) abandoned about half a mile from the scene at Emmons Ave. and Coyle St.

Neighbors said Morgenshteyn owned a welding shop on Staten Island and described him as “nice and quiet.”

Cops are still hoping to catch the driver.

Hours earlier, an 89-yearold woman was killed by an SUV while crossing the street in the Bronx.

Beatrice Kahn was walking across Riverdale Ave. near W. 263rd St. in Riverdale when she was struck by a 2015 GMC Terrain making a left turn onto Riverdale Ave. around 11:30 a.m. Saturday

Medics took her to St. Barnabas Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. She lived about a block away, just over the Bronx border in Yonkers.

The 35-year-old driver stayed at the scene. She faced no immediate charges.
