A Queens man was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the stabbing death of his exgirlfriend, whose bloodied body was found inside her car days after she was reported missing in 2016.

Qwantrell Gilliam, 43, was found guilty of second-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon after a nearly threeweek-long trial last month.

“What on earth were you thinking,” Judge Kenneth Holder said at sentencing. “After she took you into her house and supported you, did you need to kill her? After abusing her in her own house, sometimes in front of her kids, did you need to kill her? After she weakened from Lupus and sickness, did you have to kill her? I agree with the words you have heard here, you are an evil individual and do not deserve to walk a free man on this earth.”

On Oct. 31, 2016, detectives discovered the body of 43year-old Dayo Corley (inset) inside her parked car at 122nd Ave. and Lakeview Lane in South Jamaica. Cops said she had been stabbed multiple times.

“This was a tragic end for a woman who was victimized by someone who at one time professed to love her,” said Chief Assistant District Attorney John Ryan. “The jury listened to the evidence and rendered a verdict of guilt. The defendant will now spend the rest of his life locked away to punish him for this heinous act and to protect others.”

Corley, a mother of two, was last seen shortly before 1:45 a.m. on Oct. 29, 2016, after having just left a hair salon on Merrick Blvd. Phone records showed her traveling to the vicinity of Lakeview Lane and 122nd Ave. after speaking to Gilliam on her cell.

Several witnesses testified Gilliam had been harassing Corley with threatening phone calls following their June 2016 breakup.
