Devs get No.1 pick in draft, Rangers 2nd

The Devils will have the No. 1 pick at this year’s NHL draft.

The Avalanche had the best odds of landing the first pick at 18.5%, but drew the No. 4 selection. The Rangers will pick second and the

Blackhawks will select third at the June draft.

It’s the second time in three years the Devils will have the top draft pick. They also won the 2017 lottery, moving up four spots before picking center Nico Hischier.

The Devils are likely to pick American forward Jack Hughes this time around.

T-SHIRT CANNON SUIT

A woman has sued the Houston Astros for more than $1 million, saying that a T-shirt cannon fired by the team’s mascot at a game last season broke her finger.

The Houston Chronicle reports that Jennifer

Harughty alleges that the mascot, who is named Orbit, “shattered” her left index finger during a game last July when a T-shirt fired from a “bazooka style” cannon into the stands struck her finger.

The Astros said in a statement Tuesday the team is “aware of the lawsuit with allegation­s regarding Orbit’s T-shirt launcher. We do not agree with the allegation­s. The Astros will continue to use fan popular Tshirt launchers during games.
