Former cop cuffed for stalking ex

- BY THOMAS TRACY

A former NYPD detective arrested for stalking and harassing her ex-lover, at one point allegedly tossing urine on her front door, is in trouble with the law again, officials said.

Police Officer Lori Campbell was arrested at her Crown Heights home on Friday for violating an order of protection that prohibits her from going near her former girlfriend.

Campbell, 52, is accused of incessantly sending text messages, stalking and sometimes chasing her ex-girlfriend, who broke up with her to marry a man in 2017. At the time, Campbell was an aide to Chief of Department Terence Monahan.

Prosecutors said Campbell and her 50-year-old victim became friends in 2004, and eventually became lovers.

They said Campbell started stalking her former flame in September 2017, sending her 2,400 unwanted texts and using an unmarked police car to follow her and her 37-yearold husband. That December, Campbell allegedly attacked the woman, which led to the victim being hospitalized to repair her pacemaker.

On Feb. 10, 2018, Campbell allegedly spray painted a security camera outside the couple’s home and tossed urine on their front door, cops said. The woman’s husband chased Campbell until she ran out of breath, authorities said.

Campbell (photo) also allegedly used an NYPD database to run 10 searches on the couple, a serious violation of department rules.

She continued to follow the victims, even after she was suspended, stripped of her guns and placed on desk duty on Feb. 20, 2018, officials said.

Campbell was demoted from detective to officer in January. Her stalking case is ongoing.

She is due back in court on Wednesday to answer the charges, officials said.
