JETS SCHEDULE

Retooled Gang Green is looking to make playoff push in 2019

- BY MANISH MEHTA

The Jets might have only won 14 games in the past three seasons, but Adam Gase has made it clear to his team that he came here to topple the Patriots.

Let’s see if Gang Green can make it happen in 2019.

Week 1, Sunday, Sept. 8: vs. Bills, 1 p.m.

Matt Barkley & Co. embarrassed Gang Green the last time Buffalo came to MetLife Stadium, but it’ll be a different story this time. The Gase Era kicks off in style.

Week 2, Monday, Sept. 16: vs. Browns, 8:15 p.m.

Oh, baby. Talk about Must-See TV. There’s star power all over the field for this primetime matchup. Sam Darnold gets the last laugh over Baker Mayfield & Odell Beckham, Jr.

Week 3, Sunday, Sept. 22: at Patriots, 1 p.m.

Tom Brady might be 42, but he’ll be fresh in this early-season matchup. This won’t be a walk in the park, but the reigning Super Bowl champs will hand Gang Green their first loss of the season. Week 4: BYE

Week 5, Sunday, Oct. 6: at Eagles, 1 p.m.

Sam Darnold learns a valuable lesson: Philly doesn’t show Brotherly Love to outsiders. Carson Wentz shows why he’s one of the NFL’s best young quarterbacks.

Week 6, Sunday, Oct. 13: vs. Cowboys, 4:25 p.m.

America’s Team hands Gang Green their third consecutive loss. Stopping Ezekiel Elliott is easier said than done.

Week 7, Monday, Oct. 21: vs. Patriots, 8:15 p.m.

The MetLife crazies help Gang Green get back to their winning ways. Brady is tempted to dial up Gronk after the game to ask him to unretire.

Week 8, Sunday, Oct. 27: at Jaguars, 1 p.m.

Nick Foles gets a taste of Gregg Williams’ attacking defense… and doesn’t like it.

Week 9, Sunday, Nov. 3: at Dolphins, 1 p.m.

Gase exacts revenge on the organization that whacked him. Ryan Fitzpatrick doesn’t have nearly enough magic for the most tankalicious team in the league.

Week 10, Sunday, Nov. 10: vs. Giants, 1 p.m.

Saquon Barkley drags the G-Men to an ugly win against their MetLife roommates.

Week 11, Sunday, Nov. 17: at Washington, 1 p.m.

Who’s playing quarterback for Washington? Case Keenum? Josh Rosen? Daniel Jones or Dwayne Haskins? Somewhere, Gregg Williams is giggling.

Week 12, Sunday, Nov. 24: vs. Raiders, 1 p.m.

Jon Gruden is in fullfledged rebuilding mode. Some of his rookies show promise, but you can’t take Oakland seriously until 2020.

Week 13, Sunday, Dec. 1: at Bengals, 1 p.m.

Zac Taylor’s team isn’t scaring anyone, which leaves Jets fans scratching their heads at this defeat.

Week 14, Sunday, Dec. 8: vs. Dolphins, 1 p.m.

Let’s get real, people. Miami stinks. Next!

Week 15, Thursday, Dec. 12: at Ravens, 8:15 p.m.

There’s nothing more annoying than preparing for Lamar Jackson on a short week. The Ravens might have lost the heartbeat of their defense in C.J. Mosley, but it’s still a formidable unit.

Week 16, Sunday, Dec. 22: vs. Steelers, 1 p.m.

These are not your older brother’s Steelers. Le’Veon Bell gets an early Christmas present with a win over his former team.

Week 17, Sunday, Dec. 29: at Bills, 1 p.m.

The Jets were in a similar spot in Todd Bowles’ first season: Make the playoffs with a win in Buffalo in the season finale. Those Jets laid an egg. These Jets finish the job in white-knuckler that ends the franchise’s eight-season playoff drought.
