Suited up for robberies at phone stores

- BY THOMAS TRACY

They’re all dressed up with nowhere to go — except prison.

A pair of crooks dressed like the “Men in Black” have been raiding cell phone stores in Brooklyn and Queens over the past two weeks, roughing up store employees and swiping thousands of dollars in cash and phones, officials said Saturday.

During their last heist, on Thursday, the duo knocked out an employee at an Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, store as they waved around a gun during the 10:15 a.m. raid, officials said.

The suspects, described as black, wear black suits, white dress shirts, dark-colored ties and black fedoras and cover the lower part of their faces with surgical masks, officials said.

They began their spree April 30 when one of them entered a Sprint store on Fulton St. near Nostrand Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, about 2 p.m. and pulled a gun on a worker. The thief ordered the employee to open the safe and took 39 cell phones and cash before fleeing.

The suspects resurfaced May 3, when they hit a Metro PCS store on Fulton St. near Tompkins Ave., some four blocks from the first holdup. They pulled a gun on a worker and took cash and phones. They switched up their game plan last Monday when they moved their operation to Queens and held up a store on Jamaica Ave. near 166th St., taking cash and phones.

They became more violent Thursday when they raided the store on Eastern Parkway near Bergen St. in Crown Heights, where they beat an employee unconscious before running off with cash and electronics.

Anyone with info should call Crime Stoppers, (800) 577TIPS.
