A 44-year-old woman was fatally stabbed in the back and beaten with a wooden cutting board by her boyfriend inside their Queens apartment, police said Tuesday.

Isabel Galeano was repeatedly knifed in the back by Isidro Pacheco, 56, inside their home on Atari Lane near 93rd Ave. in South Jamaica at about 2 p.m. Monday, according to cops. He also allegedly beat her with a wooden cutting board.

Medics rushed Galeano to Jamaica Hospital, where she died about 7:45 a.m. Tuesday.

About an hour after cops responded to the attack, Pacheco surrendered at the 103rd Precinct stationhouse, officials said. He was charged with murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Sharmin Khan, 39, who lives in the same complex as the couple, who are Honduran, told The News she witnessed the brutal final minutes of the attack as they unfolded in the courtyard behind the couple’s home where they had lived for about five months.

“They were fighting and she ran out of her house. He came after her and grabbed her by the door and he was beating her,” Khan said. “She tried to save herself but he caught her.

“She ran to her neighbor’s door. There was blood everywhere on the wall and the door.”

She said to her knowledge the police had never before been called for the couple. “Nothing like this has happened between them before. This just happened all of a sudden.” She said the police had never been there before for them.

She said the fighting started in the apartment and spilled out into the courtyard.

Harvey Pacheco, 17, one of the couple’s four children, told The News his 23-year-old brother, who was home during the attack, said their mother was cooking when it began.

“He started hugging her and then stabbed her with the knife. He was talking gibberish.

“He didn’t have to do this,” he said. “The four children he had were with her. Imagine taking the life of the mother of your own children. It’s not fair.”
