Dems hit city in search of Wall St. cash

Joe Biden is coming to New York in search of cash — and he’s not alone.

With the clock ticking down to a key fundraising deadline, Biden is leading a parade of Democratic presidential wannabes on the prowl for Wall St. donors.

The ex-vice president and 2020 front-runner was set to be introduced by Gov. Cuomo at a Monday fund-raiser at the Manhattan home of hedge fund titan James Chanos, a source said.

California Sen. Kamala Harris will be in to town for a similar event Tuesday night at the home of money man Marc Lasry, who is co-owner of the Milwaukee Bucks NBA team.

Wall St. lawyer Brad Karp, meanwhile, is hedging his bets by hosting meet-and-greets in Manhattan for Biden (photo) and Harris Tuesday, according to The New York Times.

South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg was in town last week wowing donors at the home of billionaire Hamilton James.

The three Democrats are sprinting to the end of the cash race for the second quarter of 2019, which ends June 30.

For Biden, it’s important to show an impressive money haul to cement his place as the early leader in the race. It will also be the ex-veep’s first fund-raising disclosure since jumping into the race April 25.

Harris wants to show that she is right at the top of the list to take on President Trump despite less-than-impressive poll numbers.

Buttigieg is riding a wave of popularity with voters and donors. A big Q2 performance could set him up to be seen as a keeper at the top of the race.

Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren — and the locals of the 2020 race, Mayor de Blasio and New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand — have sworn off big donations in favor of courting small donors.
