Gleyber before they go to All-Star Game

nated hitter Sunday, Aroldis Chapman and Masahiro Tanaka.

And with the demands of the All-Star Game — media interviews, workouts and family and friends obligations — it’s not really a break.

“No doubt, and they’re not going to have the same break obviously as some of the guys not on the (All-Star) team. So you’re flying out tonight (to Cleveland) for the (Monday) workout and all that (then) you go through with the festivities and hopefully they get some good rest on Wednesday and Thursday,” Boone said. “But those are two guys that we’ve leaned on heavily.”

VOIT VYING FOR FRIDAY

Luke Voit was out on the field before Sunday’s game going through a running program and defensive drills.

“Everything feels good,” Voit said. “Hopefully I’ll be back on Friday.” Voit was placed on the injured list Tuesday with a strained abdomen. He ran for the first time on Saturday and said he felt fine after, allowing him to increase his workout on Sunday.

Voit is hoping to return from the IL when the second half of the season begins in the Bronx against the Blue Jays. Boone has been more cautious, saying they will see how he feels over the break.

GETTING THE CALL

Boone dismissed conspiracy theories about the Yankees “snubbing,” Tyler Wade and Clint Frazier with recent openings. The Bombers have used Mike Ford, Mike Tauchman and Sunday it was Breyvic Valera who got the opportunities.

Some speculated that Wade, who was vocally critical of the Yankees cutting him on the last day of spring training, and Frazier, who created controversy when he first refused to talk to the media after his three defensive mistakes cost them the game then exacerbated it with a mini meltdown, were overlooked because of those issues.

Boone said that while he is very conscious of the clubhouse culture, nobody was denied a chance because of attitudes.

“I would say, it’s a factor but there is no one we have passed over as a result of that. We’ve kind of constructed our team and made decisions based on need and what made the most sense based on a 25-man roster standpoint. There is no ‘We don’t want his attitude up here,’ or ‘We don’t want this,’ or because a guy hasn’t acted the right way or anything like that,” Boone said. “So we feel like not only our group here but guys on the injured list and guys in our minor league system, we think that’s a strength in the makeup of the guys we have.”
