Durant pal rips Russell

- BY DENNIS YOUNG

Kevin Durant’s longtime friend, Randy M. Williams, flamed Durant’s old teammate, Russell Westbrook, in the comment section of a Bleacher Report Instagram post, writing, “No one wants to Play with Russ…He’s more worried about Stats vs Playing Winning Basketball!” He left the comment on Saturday night, and it’s still not deleted.

Durant and Williams have been friends since Durant’s 2006-07 college season, and Williams now has the job title of Durant’s “brand ambassador.” He logged on after the news broke over the weekend that the Thunder was trading Paul George to the Clippers — possibly in part because of a rift between Westbrook and George.

The full comment reads “No one wants to Play with Russ! Everyone blames everyone one else expect him! When it comes to the Thunder Losing! People have Bad Basketball mixed up with Loyalty! Russ is all about Russ! He’s more worried about Stats vs Playing Winning Basketball! Everyone can say what they Want! But Owners & GMs in the NBA know the Real about Russell & his Style of Play! So Fans can say what they Want! But moving Forward to the Future! OKC will have to Trade Russ & He will have to become a Better Player/ Teammate! He can Keep that Intensity & Competitiveness! But reality has set in! NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY WITH HIM !!!!! ”

Kendrick Perkins, Westbrook and Durant’s teammate for several years in Oklahoma City, wrote that “KD needs to check his People…Lost all respect for you Homie!!!”

A full 15 months of Durant with nothing to do but look at his phone should be fun.
