- JARED McCALLISTER

The hits just keep on coming for VP Records, which is launching its music-packed “On The Riddim” series on YouTube, starting Tuesday. The monthly OTR page — one of the latest surprises from VP’s 40th anniversary celebration — will feature artists’ interviews, music videos, new album releases, special events and more, all fueled by the world’s largest reggae and soca label’s vast resources.

A Christopher Martin album release, the “Soca Gold Live” and “Strictly the Best Live” albums, and “an ode” to VP Records’ 40th anniversary are among the topics on the Tuesday’s debut OTR episode.

The vibrant duo of Jamaican born Queen Bremmer and Grenada-born, New York-raised Kevin Crown will regularly host the new series.

Additional contributors will include Tadia Toussaint, Queen Mixxy, Hala Maroc, Kesley Saul, Shomari Wilson, Lady Trini, and Ashley.

According to VP executives, OTR’s goal is to give the general public access to the wealth of music and information generated by the international firm. Up to now, this information has been shared with the media through a weekly newsletter.

VP Records currently has close to 1 million followers of its YouTube channel — youtube.com/user/vprecords.
