Box truck hits man, critically injures him

A box truck slammed into a 58-year-old man crossing a Midtown street Monday, critically injuring him, police said.

The truck (inset) hit the man in the crosswalk at W. 58th St. and Sixth Ave. about 7:40 a.m.

Medics rushed the victim to New YorkPresbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell in critical but stable condition.

The driver remained at the scene.

It was not yet clear whether he would be charged.
