Girl, 16, hurt when motorcycle slams car

A night out with friends turned tragic for a 31-year-old motorcycle enthusiast who died after he was thrown from his bike following a Brooklyn crash, officials and friends said Wednesday.

Roshaun Miller was heading south on Rockaway Parkway in Canarsie giving a 16-year-old girl a ride on his 2013 Yamaha motorcycle when he slammed into the passenger side of a northbound Nissan Murano making a left turn onto Avenue K about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.

Both Miller and the teen were ejected from the motorcycle upon impact, horrified witnesses told police.

Miller suffered massive injuries to his head and body. He was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital but could not be saved.

The teen suffered only minor head and facial injuries, cops said. She was taken to the same hospital in stable condition.

The 24-year-old man driving the Murano remained at the scene. No charges were immediately filed.

Miller came to the U.S. from Jamaica and has been living in Canarsie for about three years, friends said.

Miller and his friends had spent the balmy summer night riding their motorcycles around Brooklyn and attended an AfroCaribbean concert in nearby Wingate Park before he split off with the teen, said a longtime friend, who would only identify himself as Spaz.

“[We were] taking pictures and everything,” Spaz said. “We were feeling good. [Then] he branched off to go meet up with somebody. I was looking back, like, ‘Where’s Roshaun?’ Nobody knew where he was.”

Spaz and his friends continued driving around the neighborhood and even rolled by the crash scene without realizing that Miller, a father of three, was the victim.

“As we were coming down Rockaway [Parkway] we saw the street all taped up,” Spaz said. “But we weren’t paying attention so we went around all of that.”

“When we came back home and parked, my other friend was like, ‘You know that was a bike that was on the floor?’” Spaz remembered. “I thought I would just hear about in the morning. Then when I got up this morning I saw like 10 missed phone calls.”

Miller’s relatives were too grief stricken to talk to a reporter Wednesday.
