Anti-cop hubby of DOC capt. may be charged

- BY CLAYTON GUSE AND THOMAS TRACY

The husband of a city Department of Correction captain who posted an anti-cop rant on Facebook is a city Transit employee and could be facing criminal charges, sources told the Daily News Thursday.

Rashid Stanley (inset left), the husband of DOC Capt. La Shonda Stanley (inset right), is a car inspector for city transit, sources with knowledge of the case said.

A second source said the NYPD is investigating whether the department should file criminal charges against Stanley, who demanded people shoot police officers.

“How easily people forget. Y’all upset about some pigs getting water thrown on them,” Rashid Stanley wrote on a Facebook page that he shares with his wife. “All the innocent black men and women killed at the hands of these pigs. Y’all forgot ‘Eric Gardner’ [sic] killer just got off with murder, on camera!”

“It’s time we shoot back!!!” the post adds. “Cop killers stand up !!!! ”

The post, which was only shared with the couple’s Facebook friends, was in response to those supporting cops caught on humiliating viral videos getting hit with water.

One NYPD source said those who have written similar social media posts have faced charges of making terroristic threats.

Charges could come as early as Friday, the source said. Attempts to reach the couple were unsuccessful.

The DOC suspended La Shonda Stanley on Wednesday, after the couple’s post was circulated with disdain among law enforcement circles even though she didn’t write the post, which is signed by “Mr. Stanley.”
