Teen lures vics to beatings via app
A 16-year-old Bronx girl used Snapchat to lure three strangers into meeting up — so that her accomplices could beat and rob them at knifepoint, police said Thursday.
The crooked crew’s spree began when the girl persuaded a 15-year-old boy to link up on the fourth floor of a building on E. 175th St. near Marmion Ave. in Crotona about 7:30 p.m. July 11. When her mark arrived, she claimed she needed to step out to the store.
As she left, her accomplices, two men who appear to be in their teens or early 20s, jumped into action, assaulting the boy at knifepoint and ripping his iPhone 8, $70 and even his sneakers away from him.
Less than an hour later, the girl conned a 22-year-old man into meeting her in the same building. When he arrived, she again said she needed something from the store, giving an opening for her accomplices to rob him of his Samsung Galaxy S7 and debit card.
The trio struck again July 19, when she arranged a rendezvous with a 23-year-old man at the corner of Third Ave. and E. 173rd St. in Claremont about 11:20 p.m., police said.
She pulled the same scam, and the victim was robbed by her accomplices of his Samsung Galaxy S9 and debit card.
All three victims were roughed up but did not require medical attention.
Two days after the final incident, cops arrested the teen girl and charged her with robbery. Her name was not released because she is being charged as a juvenile.
Her accomplices have not been caught. Cops released surveillance video of them Thursday and asked the public’s help tracking them down.
The first suspect is described as black with a dark complexion, 165 pounds and 5-foot-8 tall with short black hair. He was wearing a black Nike T-shirt, black sweatpants with white stripes and black sneakers. The second suspect is described as black with a dark complexion, 170 pounds and 5-foot-9 tall with short black hair. He was wearing an Echo Unlimited olive sweatjacket with white lettering on the front, black pants, a white T-shirt and black sneakers.
Cops are also looking to question a teenage girl seen in the company of the suspects in the video. She is described as 15 to 18 with a thin build, light complexion and brown hair. She was wearing glasses, black jeans, a red tank top, sneakers and a backpack.
