They used tunnel as drag strip
The family that drag raced together got busted together.
A New Jersey father and son were arrested Tuesday for racing Corvettes through the Lincoln Tunnel and causing a crash.
Chadwick Quinones, 25, posted dashcam video of his wild ride on Instagram that showed him blasting through the tunnel’s Manhattanbound tube at 10 p.m. Feb. 9, neckand-neck with his dad, Fred Ordine, 44, before losing control, Port Authority police said.
Just as he overtook his dad’s yellow Vette, he crashed into a car on his left, bounced off the wall on his right, then hit an SUV on his left and spun out, police said. No injuries were reported.
Quinones fled but returned an hour and a half later, and was issued three summonses in Weehawken,
N.J. for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to exhibit registration and careless driving, police said.
When Port Authority police detectives asked him about the video, he yanked it from his Instagram page, though it can still be found reposted to other accounts, police said.
After an investigation, Port Authority cops charged Quinones and Ordine, both of Hewitt, N.J., with reckless endangerment, illegal speed contest and reckless driving.
“We are committed to tracking down people who commit this type of reckless behavior and prosecuting them. In doing so, we hope to deter others from doing the same,” Port Authority Police Chief Detective Matthew Wilson said.
They await arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court.
