HOLY INSULT, BLAZMAN!
Bill slams Rudy as anti-Semitic in Yule Eve feud between Gotham mayors
Mayor de Blasio and one of his most controversial predecessors aren’t having themselves a merry little Christmas.
De Blasio accused Rudy Giuliani on Christmas Eve of pushing “anti-Semitic” bile about Democratic Party megadonor George Soros, by suggesting Soros can’t be a real Jew because he’s not vehemently pro-Israel.
“I know Rudy Giuliani is determined to set new lows in pathetic, spineless behavior these days — but this antiSemitic rant is particularly dangerous,” de Blasio tweeted Tuesday. “The attacks our Jewish communities have endured are fueled by this kind of loathsome hate. He’s an absolute disgrace.”
Giuliani’s comments in a New York magazine interview published Monday drew de Blasio’s yuletide ire.
“Soros is hardly a Jew. I’m more of a Jew than Soros,” Giuliani, who was raised a Catholic, told the glossy. “He’s a horrible human being.”
In the interview, Giuliani also said former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch was under Soros’ “control.”
“And he’s employing FBI agents,” Giuliani added without any evidence.
Giuliani — whose hunt for political dirt in Ukraine led to President Trump’s impeachment — punched back at de Blasio, claiming there was “nothing anti-Semitic” about his Soros comments.
“I am entitled to disagree with [Soros] and question his priorities without attacks from our failed mayor,” Giuliani told the Daily News. “Indeed, our failed mayor should attack Soros for his destructive actions toward Israel. The whole wall placed around Soros that if you criticize him you are antiSemitic is absurd. … Another left-wing phony connection.”
