Walhalla, S.C.: Taking this time to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with joy and happiness. May we bond together in love and caring and keep the stars adjoined in the glow of a peaceful outcome for the problems faced in this world. The battle of life is difficult and peace hard to find, but each of us has the ability to take a moment to feel the joy of peace and love, if only in our hearts. Who knows, one day we may all join together with the wisdom, strength and grace to be a part of a lasting and eternal peace. I know that looking at the world as it is now it is hard to imagine. Keep the heart of love always present and find the joy that is there within you. Perhaps one day the hate and violence will be a thing of the past. We must look forward to a future filled with beauty and love. Love is the promise, God is the gift, and we must be the answer. God bless you all. Gary Carter
Manhattan: During the holiday season, many will struggle with increased feelings of loneliness – especially seniors, who spend more time alone than the average adult. Isolation can cause detrimental health issues, including heightened risk of heart disease, dementia and premature death. The holidays also bring their own challenges for isolated seniors, as they may struggle with increased lack of mobility and grief over lost loved ones. We at Griswold Home Care have seen first-hand how companionship improves one’s well-being. This season, we encourage you to join our efforts by checking on your aging loved ones often. Good deeds
Warwick, R.I.: Remember those who are no longer with us. Visit the children and adults who are medically impaired in hospitals, treatment centers, or at home. Try to assist those who are unable to live a healthy and productive life. Your reward will be a joyful and happy holiday.

Bronx: So Boeing couldn’t deliver Christmas presents to the International Space Station? Why didn’t they just call Santa and his reindeer?

Christmas roots
Brooklyn: Let’s put Christ back into Christmas. After taking the children to see Santa Claus and after buying gifts, take them to church on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day so that they will know what the greatest gift of all is. God so loved the world that He gave us His son. God is love. We give gifts to show that same love. Jesus is the reason for the season. Merry “Christ”-mas.

Best wishes
Manhattan: As we remember our deployed troops this Christmas, we should also include all the U.S. government employees of the State Department, the intelligence community, the FBI and other agencies working in our national interest at embassies, consulates and other posts around the world. And don’t forget members of the NYPD posted abroad who protect our city against terrorism. They all deserve our appreciation, respect and prayers.

Judicial discretion
Brooklyn: One thing I learned from this impeachment process is that the three equal branches of government are really not so equal. The House has absolute oversight and subpoena power, but when they subpoena the executive branch and they refuse to comply, it’s up to the courts to decide. That means the courts are the ones with the real power. Not so equal.

Religious fervor
Manhattan: Responding to a highly critical editorial about him in Christianity Today,
President Trump said no president has ever done what he has for “religion itself.” He is right. Never have so many people prayed for a president to leave office.
Stand your ground
Towanda, Pa.: Having lived in New Jersey most of my life before moving to Pennsylvania, I want to commend Rep. Jeff Van Drew for his courage to switch political parties in the midst of a time when the mainstream media will try to crush such a man. He refused to be intimidated by Nancy Pelosi’s henchman-like actions. Despite the obstructionist actions of Democrats, Donald Trump is still making America greater day by day. And shame on Mitt Romney and the Bush family who have been milking this country for years. Joseph DuPont

Farmingdale, L.I.: To all the Voicers who blasted Voicer Bob Pascarella: I’m with Bob 100%. Our New York votes may not mean much come November because we live in such a liberal, far-left state, but I will absolutely vote with Bob and re-elect Donald Trump and sit back and watch all your heads explode.

Danger zone
Manhattan: “Walking in New York City is hazardous to your health.” This is the warning I now give friends from out-oftown. I have lived in Manhattan for 35 years and have never felt so unsafe walking out of my door. Vehicles brazenly go through red lights. Bicyclists ignore the rules of the road. Pedestrians unconsciously cross against red lights, faces buried in their phones. No one group is to blame for this reckless behavior. Mayor de Blasio needs to get serious about reining in the lax enforcement of street safety policies. In the meantime, my heart goes out to all the families who have loved ones in crashes (“Vision uhoh,” Dec. 20). Six fatalities in three days! This chaos will only get worse until our mayor institutes some semblance of order.
Namesake
Jersey City: How ironic: The last name of the Voicer who wrote about women disliking men is Epstein.

Brooklyn: I recently purchased a wifi router. When I was unable to get it to function
GETTY IMAGES (despite a significant amount of higher education), I called tech support. The very patient tech support person suggested resetting the router. I was told to insert a paper clip into the tiny reset button and hold for 90 seconds. (Since we are living in a paperless society, its good to see that paper clips still have a function). It worked, but it occurred to me that the manufacturer could have made a bigger button or perhaps provided a paper clip with the purchase.

Bronx: So decaying landfill and methane gas will hinder re-use of Rikers Island? (“City’s pain in the gas,” Dec. 23) What a perfect time to use Rikers to build two runways parallel to the existing LaGuardia runways as well as extending the existing runways. The new runways could go on pilings over the water as needed. You’ll have longer and safer runways plus no more long waits for take-offs. Plus, you maximize the expenditures for the new passenger facilities. It a win-win for all!
