‘HEARTBREAKING’

Gordon found with ‘black stuff’ in mouth: report

- BY NANCY DILLON

Nick Gordon was unresponsive with a mysterious black substance oozing out of his mouth when someone called for help at a Sheraton Hotel near Orlando on New Year’s Day.

“Caller advised black stuff coming out of his mouth and he is not breathing,” a 911 operator said in dispatch audio obtained by TMZ.com.

Gordon, the former fiancé of Whitney Houston’s late daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, was found in a room of the hotel shortly after 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, Maitland Police confirmed to the Daily News.

Paramedics with the Maitland Fire and Rescue Department attempted to revive the “unresponsive individual later identified as Nicholas Bouler,” police said, using Gordon’s legal name.

The 30-year-old, who publicly struggled with substance abuse, was rushed to the AdventHealth Altamonte Springs hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

A spokeswoman for the medical examiner said an autopsy was pending Thursday.

“While I cannot speak to the specific circumstances of his death, I can say that it’s been truly heartbreaking to have witnessed firsthand the total devastation that drug addiction has wreaked upon a group of young friends, all of whom were loved and had immense potential,” Gordon’s lawyer Joe Habachy said in a statement.

Gordon entered a public downward spiral after Bobbi Kristina was found facedown in a bathtub on Jan. 31, 2015 in a suburban Atlanta townhouse they shared.

The only daughter of Houston and Bobby Brown was rushed to a hospital but lingered in a coma until she died July 26, 2015.

Doctors found several narcotics and prescription drugs in her blood at the time of the bathtub accident, according to an autopsy. They included marijuana, alcohol and medications used for sedation or to treat anxiety.

Bobbi Kristina was 22 years old and the sole heir to Houston’s estate after the superstar singer died in her own bathtub tragedy in 2012. The “Bodyguard” singer and actress accidentally drowned in her Beverly Hills hotel room the night before that year’s Grammy Awards.

A coroners report later confirmed the singer was a chronic cocaine user who had the drug in her system when she died.

A civil lawsuit filed by Bobbi Kristina Brown’s conservator alleged Gordon was responsible for injuries that preceded the aspiring singer’s coma — all part of an alleged ploy to take control of her inheritance.

It later added claims that Gordon caused her brain damage by knocking her out with a drug cocktail and leaving her in a tub filled with cold water.

In 2016, a judge in Atlanta ruled that Gordon was legally liable for Brown’s death in a default decision because Gordon was a no-show at a hearing and ignored court deadlines. A judge later ordered Gordon to pay more than $36 million in damages. No criminal charges were ever filed in the death investigation.

Gordon was unofficially adopted by Houston at age 12 and raised as a family member alongside Bobbi Kristina. The pair became romantically involved in the wake of Houston’s death and appeared together in a reality TV show.

Gordon entered rehab in March 2015 after his team staged an intervention involving TV’s Dr. Phil McGraw. He told Dr. Phil he never gave Bobbi Kristina a “toxic cocktail,” calling the accusation “stupid.”
