Ozzy: I have Parkinson’s disease

- BY NELSON OLIVEIRA

The Prince of Darkness had an awfully dark year.

Ozzy Osbourne revealed he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease early last year and opened up for the first time about his private health battle following a fall at his home.

“The worst, longest, most painful, miserable year of my life,” the English rock star said of the past year during an interview that aired Tuesday on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Osbourne, 71, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in February, around the same time he fell in his bathroom and had to undergo surgery on his neck, which he said “screwed” all his nerves.

The series of health struggles forced him to postpone a world tour, and he spent much of the year inside his Los Angeles home. But the former Black Sabbath singer (inset) is on the road to recovery and expects to hit the stage sometime this year.

“I’m a lot better now than I was last February. I was in a shocking state,” he told “GMA” co-anchor Robin Roberts.

Osbourne recalls lying on the bathroom floor after his fall and thinking, “Well, you’ve done it now,” as everything went “pitch black.” Following his treatment and surgery, he developed a “weird” nerve pain, his arm often feels numb and his legs “keep going cold,” he told Roberts.

But his family has been by his side throughout the ordeal, which has brought them closer together.

“We’ve all learned so much about each other again, and it’s reaffirmed how strong we are,” the rocker’s daughter Kelly Osbourne said in the interview.

Her brother, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2012, told Roberts he can relate to his dad because of his own health condition.

“I understand when you have something you don’t want to have,” Jack Osbourne said.

Osbourne already struggled with a similar ailment, Parkin syndrome, which also causes tremors.
