Wellfleet, Mass.: Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who is tough as nails, gave the perfect response to Trump’s lie infested, self-promoting State of the Union address by tearing it up after Don the Con delivered it. Speaker Pelosi jetted the adage “actions speaker louder than words” to the max. Good for Pelosi! Mike Rice

Port Jefferson, L.I.: Pelosi’s actions were those of a sore loser and a disgrace to this country. Tearing up the president’s speech is pure vindictiveness and hatred. She should be removed immediately. Liberals are a bunch of bottom feeders who have reaped money and power for years from the country and the American people. Well, now the party is over. The lying liberals are done. I thank you, God. Grace Fornatora

Bronx: Watching the State of the Union address, I couldn’t help but notice that the Democrats sitting really showed themselves. Whether you like Trump or not, to not applaud the need for better education shows how they put their needs above that of the nation’s children. Good lesson for the children of America. Stephen Hill

Shocker

Bronx: There should have been a button to press under the seats of the women in white to give them a shock so they knew when to stand. And, Ms. Pelosi: Thank you for giving the House back to the Republican Party.

Mary Caggiano

Fake news

Bronx: Listening to Donald Trump’s speech, you would think that all Americans are doing extremely well and everything is all peaches and roses since he took office. Giving Rush Limbaugh a Presidential Medal of Freedom was a total disgrace!

Juliet Pennicott

Twinning

Ozone Park: Since when does a radio talk show host deserve the accolades Trump credited Limbaugh with? They are in the same category as namecallers and half-truth specialists. Anything to prove they are two peas in a pod.

Ray Hackinson

Warped world

Manhattan: Marcus Morris of the Knicks makes a sexist comment and gets public scorn. President Donald J. Trump makes sexist comments and he’s supported by evangelicals. I guess we hold athletes to higher standards than the president.

Edward Drossman

Adopt, don’t shop

Staten Island: A big thank you to state Sen. Mike Gianaris and Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal for sponsoring a bill barring pet stores in New York from selling puppies, kittens and rabbits. If you want a purebred, go to a reputable breeder. Or adopt a needy dog or cat. They will repay you with love for the rest of their lives.

Sheila Picciarelli

Tech heads

Ozone Park: Does anyone believe in “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” anymore, or have we become a tech-dazzled, dumbed-down bunch waiting for an app to tell us when to pee, and wetting our pants if it malfunctions? The disaster at the Iowa caucuses could have been prevented if they had just used paper ballots, counted them manually (they had enough “volunteers” walking around watching the proceedings), verified the numbers and called them in (no fears about hacking with a phone call). End of story. It’s bad enough that Iowa conducts such a byzantine process, but that’s up to them. The advice I have for Iowans and everyone else: Get your heads out of your apps!

Ann Rychlenski

Sunk cost

Redmond, Wash.: Spot on! (“Stick a fork In Iowa,” editorial, Feb. 4) Why do Democrats

spend election time and money on a state with approximately 3 million registered voters, most of whom are white and not representative of the nation as a whole?

Dennis Edlund

American idealism

Whiting, N.J.: The Republicans are knaves. The Democrats are fools. We need a new political organization. How about the National Party? An entity of caring, intelligent people who espouse moderate, sensible views that would benefit the majority of the American people.

Far away election

Flushing: Voicer Robert Kralick believes that anyone who criticizes the Omnipotent President is a “hater.” In fact whatever criticism leveled at the Exalted One has been richly earned. He is a lying, egotistical, bullying boor and a disgrace to the office he holds. Remind your millionaire friends in Glen Head that an election is still to be held this year and not to be so sure of the outcome. Lester Simon

Lapsed Trumper

Manahawkin, N.J.: Voicer Robert Kralick thinks all Voicers who complain about Trump were Hillary Clinton voters. I voted for your boy. At the time I was glad Hillary lost. I never expected your boy to be so bad at his job. His penchant for attaching childish nicknames to people he doesn’t like was old after the first grade. As they used to say in Brooklyn, “throw the bum out.” Joan Benevenia

Brava!

Bronx: I want to thank the rioters who vandalized train stations, shouted “F the police,” set off a smoke bomb, believe transit is a right, set fires in trash cans, threw a hammer through a Chipotle window, and spray painted cop cars. Thank you for getting Donald Trump reelected. Mike Clarke

So cold

Lindenhurst, L.I.: Hey, Voicer Kevin Mallardi, you are right about Voicer Leonard Wilson. Wearing shorts when it’s 35 degrees out has absolutely nothing to do with giving someone the flu. If anything, it has more to do with making you look like a perfectly healthy idiot. Scott Daly

Paper boy memories

Bronx: I was at my computer Facebooking and emailing, when the thought came to me to write the Daily News about my childhood paper route. I was 8 years old at the time, and was living in Manhattan.

AP My mom used to give me $2 start money to buy Sunday Daily News papers. I was learning and earning. I would sell out and purchase more, at times I ended up with about $16. My mom taught me to pay back the starter money and give her a little extra (a hard lesson). In 1968, I was 8 and times were hard, but today I thank God for that paper route.

Enemy within

Thomas Lindsay

Little Egg Harbor, N.J.: I hate to make members of Congress seem ignorant, but it’s too easy. Ukraine could be completely invaded by Russia tomorrow and it would have less impact on our national security than the risk sanctuary cities like New York City and San Francisco pose.

William Cook

Subway sneaks

Brooklyn: In Corey Eisenberg’s op-ed about making the MTA free for everyone to ride (“Why we need fare-free transit,” Feb. 4), he makes the point about how to fund the MTA so that no one has to pay, but he left out one very important point: If everyone paid the fare, we would never have this problem. Think about it, Corey, and maybe try it sometime.
