DA’s gun-happy hubby

He aims at protesters outside L.A. prosecutor’s home

A man identified as the husband of Los Angeles County’s top prosecutor threatened to shoot a group of Black Lives Matter activists during a protest outside his home early Monday — as seen on video recorded just a day before his wife faces a crucial primary election.

The video shows District Attorney Jackie Lacey’s husband, David, ordering protesters to leave his property while aiming a gun at them.

“I will shoot you. Get off of my porch,” he told them from his front door, according to a video shared on Twitter by Melina Abdullah, who said he pointed the weapon at her chest.

During the brief incident, a woman is heard asking the man to tell his wife the group was there to meet her.

“I don’t care who you are. Get off of my porch right now. We’re calling the police,” he replied, before closing the door.

Abdullah, a professor of Pan-African studies at California State University in Los

Angeles, said the group was gathered outside the prosecutor’s house to demand a meeting that Jackie Lacey had reportedly promised to local Black Lives Matter activists.

The footage was posted shortly before 6 a.m., local time.

The prosecutor, who was first elected in 2012, has long been criticized by the activist group, which claims she’s not tough enough with police officers accused of using excessive force.

Jasmyne Cannick, another BLM activist and candidate for the Los Angeles County Central Committee, said the district attorney had agreed to meet with the group before the end of last year, but the meeting never happened.

“What elected official can get away with refusing to meet with their constituency for an entire term in office and expect to be re-elected?” Cannick said in a tweet Monday.
