Ozone Park: Sooner or later, the political correctness shark will bite you in the butt, as Chris Matthews just found out. These hair-on-fire media P.C. prophets can’t jump on the bandwagons decrying “racism,” “sexism,” “whatever ‘ism’ is fashionable today” fast enough. Only to have the P.C. shark turn on them for some silly comment made years ago. You used it, Chris, and now it’s using you: Have fun in the P.C.-looney world you helped create! Steve Rychlenski

Manchester, N.J.: Dear MSNBC: Please invalidate any and all threats that might have been made to Chris Matthews and refuse to accept his “retirement.” Enough is enough. Does no one accept an apology anymore? Does a so-called “journalist,” male or female, possess the power to have a veteran political icon forced into retirement because he or she was “uncomfortable”? This wasn’t Harvey Weinstein or Bill Cosby or Jeffrey Epstein. Have the courage to support those who have made your franchise a media power. Women deserve respect and equity, but they cannot be the judge, jury and executioner of all society. I’m sorry Bernie Sanders’ feelings were hurt by Matthews’s hyperbolic remarks, but he is a boor and a onetrick pony and his time was up, regardless of Matthews’ comments. His candidacy would ensure a Trump victory. So please, be responsible. Demonstrate reasonableness and fairness and societal sanity. Charles Morgan

San Francisco: Pete Buttigieg and Cory Booker were the only candidates who could truly inspire with their words, and Amy Klobuchar is one of the most productive members of Congress. Unfortunately, we aren’t rewarding thoughtful candidates who encourage their supporters to ask not what they are against, but what they aspire for this country to become.

The greater good

Manhattan: Michael Bloomberg is a brilliant man of real decency and great integrity. His decision to withdraw from the race, putting ego aside in an attempt to unite the Democratic Party and do what’s best for our country, should be applauded. If only Bernie Sanders were similarly inclined.

Rego Park: Easy to say but hard to do. Frank Sinatra used to sing, “If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere….” But the three-time mayor of New York Mike Bloomberg definitely could not make it outside his city.

Victor Maltsev

Question

Manhattan: Just asking: Who is George Soros backing to be the Democratic nominee for president of the United States?

Animal in charge

Little Egg Harbor, N.J.: Voicer Nancy Bennett writes that she would vote for a chimpanzee before she would vote for Trump. That kind of ignorance in New York City voters certainly explains why they have de Blasio for their mayor. “Idiocracy” was a prophetic movie indeed.

William Cook

That’s subjective

Brooklyn: The word “objective” is not in the Democratic Party’s vocabulary.

Oakland Gardens: As an educator, I always try to expose my students to certain people who don’t get their just due in our history books. Two great examples are Sens. Blanche Bruce and Hiram Rhodes Revels. Revels was the first African-American appointed to serve in the U.S. Congress, taking over the seat of Confederate President Jefferson Davis. Blanche Bruce was the first African-American elected to U.S. Congress. His mother was a slave when he was born and his father was the slave master, yet he still rose to such heights. Every year my students are amazed by the incredible feats these men accomplished. Inevitably, one student always asks why Hollywood hasn’t made any films about these men. My reply? It’s because they were Republicans.

Mike Murphy

Too late!

Manhattan: We now have the first deaths from Covid-19, soon after the president bragged about the great job he and his administration were doing. I guess all those doctors that he fired and all the budget cuts to all the health agencies he imposed will quickly be restored. I doubt it because that would mean former President Obama was correct in fortifying those institutions and we all know that if anything has an Obama stamp on it, it must be erased from memory. When you fire medical personnel, you just cannot call them back into service like they are “on call” at a hospital. His ego is now costing lives! Maybe now people will stop listening to Fox News and this administration’s lies and begin to listen to facts once again.

Boycott wars

Fall River, Mass.: So haughty little Spike Lee has threatened to boycott all remaining Knicks home games this season. What a tragedy and coincidence: I’ve boycotted every one of his movies ever since making the mistake of sitting through “Do the Right Thing.” Charles Winokoor

Not cool, Chuck

Rockaway Park: Who does Chuck Schumer think he is threatening Supreme Court justices over an upcoming abortion case? Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh will not be intimidated by this bully. Schumer and his cohort, however, are guilty of bullying and destroying millions of unborn boys and girls since 1973. He does not deserve to be a U.S. senator. Voters in New York State should do their civic duty and vote him out of office.

Geri Haggerty

Botched bill

New Hyde Park, L.I.: When it comes to abortion, I thought Gov. Cuomo was the devil, but I now see he has a pitchfork-mate in the netherworld with Chuck Schumer. Just recently, Schumer, along with other Democrats, blocked a bill that would have provided medical attention to babies who survived bungled abortions. How could anyone not

AP want to save the life of a newborn baby? Schumer, like his extremist pro-abortion Democrat ilk, has no heart.

To the dispensary!

Woodmere, L.I.: To Voicer Betty Miserendino: To help keep the cost down on your medicines, try smoking some marijuana! It will help with your pain so you can reduce taking your medicines. Believe me, it works!

Mike Schmidt

Free speech warrior

Fort Lee: Why is NYPD union boss Ed Mullins being investigated? Because he wrote some unflattering things about Mayor de Blasio? Is it a crime in the United States of America to express a view? Don’t we have a First Amendment in the U.S. Constitution that protects free speech?

Gary Schwartz

Waxing nostalgic

Manhattan: I miss my subways! I may sound like a proud New Yorker, but I miss them. I’m close to 90 now and subject to falls so I don’t ride them anymore. Not too wise to do so. Buses? Too slow. Taxi cabs? Too expensive. But with the subway, I went from Van Cortlandt Park to Brooklyn College, from Chinatown to Surf Ave. in Coney Island. I miss my subways.
