Big-screen excitement direct to your living room

You don’t need a movie theater to see some of the biggest film releases of 2020 so far.

With theaters across the United States and beyond closed temporaril­y because of the coronaviru­s pandemic, major studios are making movies available on digital platforms earlier than otherwise anticipate­d.

Available Now:

“Onward”

The heartfelt fantasy flick (photo) from Disney’s Pixar, which opened in theaters March 6, is now available for digital purchase in the U.S. for $19.99 and for rental for $5.99. The animated movie led by Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer can also be viewed on the Disney+ streaming service.

“The Invisible Man” Starring Elisabeth Moss, the creepy thriller from Universal Pictures can now be rented on Apple and Amazon Prime Video for 48 hours for $19.99. It came out in theaters Feb. 28.

“Frozen 2”

Fans were thrilled last week when November’s animated sequel to the 2013 classic skated onto Disney+ three months earlier than originally scheduled. “EMMA.”

Like “The Invisible Man,” the latest adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel can be rented on Apple and Prime for $19.99 for two days. “EMMA.” was released in theaters on Valentine’s Day.

“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”

The ninth and final installmen­t to main series of “Star Wars” movies, which opened in theaters last December, came out a few days early on digital platforms a little over a week ago and is now available for purchase for $19.99 and rental for $5.99.

“The Hunt”

After opening in theaters March 13, “The Hunt” is now available for 48-hour rental on iTunes and

Prime Video for $19.99. “Birds of Prey”

Fresh off its Feb. 7 theatrical opening, the Warner Bros. flick starring Margot Robbie as the eccentric comic book antihero Harley Quinn is available to buy on digital platforms for $19.99. “Bloodshot”

Sony’s superhero movie starring Vin Diesel as the titular character is available to buy for $19.99 digitally now following its March 13 debut in theaters.

“The Way Back”

Ben Affleck’s emotional drama, which opened in theaters March 6, centers on a former star basketball player who battles with substance abuse as he attempts to coach his old high school team back to glory. It’s available for purchase on digital platforms.

“The Gentlemen” Following its January release in theaters, “The Gentlemen,” starring Matthew McConaughe­y, Hugh Grant and more, can be bought on digital services for $14.99.

“Bad Boys for Life”

Also fresh off a January release, the sequel starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence can be bought digitally for $19.99.

“I Still Believe”

Based on an inspiring true story, “I Still Believe” covers Christian musican Jeremy Camp’s life and first marriage, and the tragic loss of his wife, Melissa. The movie opened in theaters March 13 and can be rented digitally for $19.99.

“The Call of the Wild” The heartwarmi­ng latest adaptation of Jack London’s classic novel stars Harrison Ford and is now available for digital purchase for $14.99 a little over a month after its Feb. 21 release in theaters.
