Human remains at susp’s house

Idaho tale of 2 missing kids, divorce, murder

- BY KATE FELDMAN

Human remains were found Tuesday on the property of an Idaho man in the case of two children missing since last year.

Police searched Chad Daybell’s home as part of a probe into the disappearance of his wife Lori Vallow’s kids, the Rexburg police confirmed. They wouldn’t say how many sets of remains were found.

Daybell was taken into custody about a mile from his home hours after police searched his property in Salem. Fremont County sheriff deputies, Rexburg police officers and the FBI arrived at the home around 7 a.m., according to East Idaho News.

In early January, officials removed 43 items from Dayexhumed y bell’s house, including computers, cell phones, journals and medications.

Daybell and Vallow were married in Hawaii on Nov. 5, two weeks after Daybell’s wife was found dead at home. Authorities have since

her body y and ruled her death suspicious; the autopsy is still pending.

Vallow is behind bars at the Madison County Jail on $1 million bail, charged with two felony counts of desertion and nonsupport of dependent children, as well as lesser counts of resisting and obstructing an officer, solicitation of a crime and contempt. Her children, 8-yearold JJ and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan, have been missing since September.

Vallow’s former husband, Charles Vallow, was shot to death by her brother in Arizona in July, months after he filed for divorce, accusing her of being “infatuated” with near-death experiences and spiritual visions. Her brother, Alex Cox, died in December.

Rumors of death cults have circled Vallow, 46, and Daybell, 51, as the missing children’s investigation continues. She’s refused to provide any information on the whereabouts of the kids, and has not faced charges in their disappearance.
