Hunt bat-bash creep in Bronx mall attack

A baseball bat-wielding attacker bashed a stranger in the head during an unprovoked attack at a Bronx shopping mall, officials said Thursday.

The 34-year-old victim told police that he and his girlfriend were leaving Home Depot at the Bronx Terminal Market in Concourse Village about 8:10 p.m. on June

14 when the unhinged suspect, who was walking a mountain bicycle and had a bat slung over his shoulder, stormed up to him.

The victim, who spoke to the Daily News on condition of anonymity, said he and his girlfriend noticed the attacker (inset) out of the corner of their eye as they descended a stairwell to the street.

“We just have him a short glance … a fraction of a second,” he said.

“There was no one around, so we had to pass him,” his girlfriend added.

A 76-year-old Long Island woman was found dead in her neighbor’s pool, authoritie­s said Thursday.

Cops received a 911 call from a resident on Truxton Lane in Fort Salonga just after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Suffolk County police said.

When they arrived, they found a woman, looking at me? What are you looking at?”

The victim said he wasn’t looking at anyone, and he and his girlfriend tried to walk away.

“The next thing I know is pain. I got hit in the head. And I go down. I hold on to my head. I hear her shouting. I see that there’s blood on my hand,” the victim said. He told his girlfriend to call 911, as she desperatel­y yelled to get people’s attention.

The attacker hopped onto his mountain bike and pedaled off, he said.

Medics rushed the victim to Lincoln Hospital, where he needed two stitches to close the wound, cops said.

He said he and his girlfriend have been trying to keep a low profile since the attack.

“Came out of nowhere. There really nothing you could have done,” he said.

No details were released regarding how she died or why she was in the pool.
