Dayton, Ohio: Sometimes the best way to get what you want is to say nothing. In “What we know and don’t know about masks” (op-ed, June 26), Dr. Carolyn Barber says, “medical-grade N95 masks used in hospitals” are great, but regarding most masks, she says, “I suspect the benefit is marginal.” Yet she wants people to “continue wearing a mask.” Barber’s piece isn’t going to get any non-mask-wearers to start wearing one. But it may get some mask-wearers to give up and say, “Why bother?”
