A drifter from California angry he couldn’t find a job in New York has been charged with throwing rocks and breaking windows at four Manhattan consulates, authorities said.

The 34-year-old homeless suspect, Reza Mashayekhi, who appears to be mentally ill, was busted Monday for allegedly breaking three windows at the Ukrainian Consulate on E. 49th St.

He stopped outside the consulate twice on Tuesday and once last Thursday, breaking a window with rocks during each visit, according to police. Two of those incidents were captured on video and the third was witnessed by a custodian who helped identify the suspect, according to court papers and a law enforcement source.

Mashayekhi (inset) is also charged with allegedly kicking and busting a glass door at the Venezuelan consulate on E. 46th

St. on July 24.

“I don’t want to damage businesses,” he told police, according to court papers, “so I damage consulates from other countries.”

The source said the suspect also admitted to being “angry that he couldn’t find work” after coming to New York about two months ago. He had worked as a gas station attendant after coming to the United States from his native Iran in 2011.

Mashayekhi was charged with felony criminal mischief, then let go on supervised release.

Police first encountered him on Aug. 8 when he menaced a woman who saw him throwing rocks, according to a source. He was taken to a hospital for a psychiatric exam.

Two days later, Mashayekhi was arrested and given a desk appearance ticket for two more rock incidents, one on that day when he allegedly damaged a vehicle parked in a gated driveway at the consulate general of the Russian Federation on E. 91st St. The other incident was the day before when he threw fistsized stones through the front window of the Italian Consulate on Park Ave., the source said.

Mashayekhi is also being eyed for similar incidents at the German Consulate and Latvian Mission, the source said.

The wild-haired suspect’s last known address is in San Jose. The source said he has vandalism arrests in California as well as one for groping a woman.

More recently, before arriving in New York City, he was busted May 22 in a Target in Fairlawn, Ohio, and charged with trespassing for allegedly refusing to leave the store, which he apparently entered just to charge his phone. When he failed to show up in court a warrant for his arrest was issued June 17.
