New vid in old rob

Family hit in Bx. NYCHA elevator in 2017

- BY ROCCO PARASCANDOLA

An 8-year-old girl cowered in fear as her family was robbed at gunpoint by heartless crooks in a Bronx elevator, shocking video released Tuesday by the NYPD shows.

The incident dates back to Aug. 15, 2017, with police soon after releasing video of the suspects walking through the lobby in an attempt to identify and arrest them.

But no one was ever caught, and this week startling surveillance video showing the shocking robbery itself leaked out and started spreading online, leading police to officially release that video and again ask the public for help.

The new video shows a woman getting on an elevator in a building at St. Raymond and Olmstead

Aves. in Parkchester followed by a neighbor and the neighbor’s boyfriend and daughter.

Before the door can close, two crooks hold it open and confront them. One stands in the hallway with a gun pointed at the trapped victims while the other robs the adults.

He goes first for the boyfriend’s watch, even as the girlfriend steps in front of him as she shields her daughter.

That grabby crook also takes cell phones from the girlfriend and the other woman. When he makes a move to see what’s in the mother’s pocket the fear on the daughter’s face is visible.

Nobody was hurt during the frightening encounter.

Police said the crooks, who dropped at least one stolen item as they ran off, appear to have been between 20 and 30 years old. One was described as 5feet-5 and 150 pounds while the other was 6feet-2 and 220 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
