Plea to Don: Let gun-rap rapper out

Incarcerated rapper Kodak Black is seeking help from President Trump.

Attorneys for the 23-yearold hip-hop star sent a petition to the commander-inchief urging him to commute Black’s 46-month sentence in a federal weapons case.

Black, whose real name is Bill Kahan Kapri, was sentenced last November after pleading guilty three months earlier to lying on background paperwork while buying guns. The rapper (photo) was transferred to the high-security United States Penitent i a r y, Big Sandy, in Inez, Ky., last October after previously being at a prison in Miami.

“The fact that a non-violent paperwork offense by an individual who is not a convicted felon, recieved (sic) 46 months and was sent to a max security prison, 1,100 miles from his (home), who has been in the bix (sic) on 23 hour lock down since September 2019, with no visitation, no programs and no phone privileges is not justice,” wrote attorney Bradford Cohen in a Thursday Instagram post.

The petition was submitted to Trump on Tuesday, Cohen confirmed to the Daily News.

A photo of the petition, which was put together by Cohen and fellow attorney Jonathan Schwartz, shows it was designated for the Office of the Pardon Attorney.

“Where (the Bureau of Prisons) made a significant error in his designation paperwork,” Cohen wrote in the Instagram post. “The treatment coupled with the actual crime calls for true justice to intervene and say enough is enough. Individuals similarly situated received significantly less time. We are asking for what is fair.”

Cohen told The News that the petition is “a request to credit (Black) the time served as a total sentence.”

Black is known for songs such as “Tunnel Vision,” “No Flockin” and “Zeze.”
