Qns. party broke bug rules: sheriff
More than 200 people ignored COVID-19 guidelines at a gathering early Saturday at a Queens catering hall, the NYC Sheriff’s office said.
Deputies crashed the party at Queens Luxe Banquet Hall in South Ozone Park around 1:35 a.m.
Besides violating emergency orders meant to combat COVID-19, the venue was operating without a liquor license.
Unmasked partygoers who were dancing, drinking and smoking hookah inside were asked to leave while owner Johnny Albuja and employee Miguel Hernandez were given five summonses each for violation of emergency orders, unlicensed sale of alcohol and unlicensed warehousing of alcohol, authorities said.
Two other employees, Juan Carlos Barona Uribe and Luis David Mera Acosta, were issued summonses for violation of emergency orders.
