Pratt backed amid online criticism

A team of superheroes came to the defense of Chris Pratt.

Robert Downey Jr., Zoe Saldana and other co-stars shared their support for Pratt after social media users replied to a poll saying he was the one who could go from a list of famous actors named Chris.

“What a world… The ‘sinless’ are casting stones at my #brother, Chris Pratt… A real #Christian who lives by #principle, has never demonstrated anything but #positivity and #gratitude… AND he just married into a family that makes space for civil discourse and ( just plain fact) INSISTS on service as the highest value,” Downey, who starred with Pratt in two “Avengers” movies, wrote Tuesday on Instagram.

“If you take issue with Chris,,, I’ve got a novel idea. Delete your social media accounts, sit with your OWN defects of #character, work on THEM, then celebrate your humanness.”

Saldana, who works with Pratt on the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, shared a similar sentiment.

“You got this @prattprattpratt,” she tweeted. “Your family, friends, colleagues & everyone who’s ever crossed paths with you knows your heart and your worth!”

The online criticism begin over the weekend when filmmaker Amy Berg shared a game on Twitter asking people to choose which actor they’d remove among Pratt, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pine and Chris Evans.

Pratt’s name began trending, with some users questioning his political views, which the actor does not speak about publicly.

Others brought up a 2019 claim accusing the actor of attending an anti-LGBTQ church, which Pratt refuted at the time, saying he goes to a church that opens its doors “to absolutely everyone.”

“You all, @prattprattpratt is as solid a man there is,” fellow Marvel actor Mark Ruffalo tweeted. “I know him personally, and instead of casting aspersions, look at how he lives his life. He is just not overtly political as a rule. This is a distraction. Let’s keep our eyes on the prize, friends. We are so close now.”

Pratt married Katherine Schwarzenegger last year. She responded to the recent online remarks against her husband as well, according to People.

“There’s so much going on in the world and people are struggling in so many ways,” she commented on Instagram. “Being mean is so yesterday. There’s enough room to love all these guys. Love is what we all need not meanness and bullying. Let’s try that.”
