‘Talk’ about new blood on CBS staple

- BY NANCY DILLON

“The Talk” has tapped dancer Amanda Kloots and journalist Elaine Welteroth to replace Marie Osmond and Eve as permanent co-hosts on the CBS daytime talk show.

Sharon Osbourne revealed the decision Tuesday, saying on the air that she was “thrilled to announce” Kloots and Welteroth would become show regulars Jan. 4 after previously appearing in guest roles.

Kloots, 38, is a fitness instructor and influencer who lost her Broadway performer husband Nick Cordero to COVID-19 in July, just a year after the birth of their first child.

“To end this year with this news, this special gift is unbelievable. My angel in heaven is certainly looking out for us,” the former Radio City Rockette, who met Cordero while working on “Bullets Over Broadway” with him, said in an Instagram post.

“I am thrilled and honored to join this incredible cast and crew,” Kloots wrote. “From the very first time I guest co-hosted on ‘ The Talk,’ I knew I was amongst a very special group of people.”

Welteroth, 33, is a best-selling author who previously served as the powerhouse editor of Teen Vogue and as a judge on “Project Runway.”

She called her new post a “dream job” in an Instagram post.

“I can’t even express how humbled, how in awe, how excited, and how much JOY I feel to have the opportunity to join (the show’s cohosts) EVERY DAY on a platform that reaches outside of my own echo chamber and into the hearts and minds of households all across this country,” she wrote.

“I’m so beyond grateful,” she said.

The pair will join lead host Osbourne, 68, and remaining cohosts Sheryl Underwood, 57, and Carrie Ann Inaba, 52.

Eve, 42, revealed last month that she was leaving the show at the end of December after four seasons.

She’s been co-hosting the show from her home in London and cited travel restrictions and a focus on “expanding her family.”

“This is one of the hardest decisions in the world because I wish I hated one of you, but I don’t,” she joked during her emotional on-air announcement.
