The Legal Aid Society is calling for a swift and thorough investigattion into the deaths of two of its cclients who died in city jails.

Ryan Wilson, 29, died Nov. 222 in an apparent suicide while being held at the Manhattan DDetention Complex.

He was found unresponsive inn his cell around 5:15 p.m. at the jaail known as the Tombs before beeing taken to a nearby hospital. He was later pronounced dead.

Correction Officer Oscar Rojo anand Capt. Rebecca Hillman were suspended. The city is now investigating claims that jail staffers saw Wilson’s lifeless body but waited nearly 15 minutes before calling for help, multiple sources told the Daily News.

Several jail insiders also claim the staffers saw Wilson with a makeshift noose around his neck before he hanged himself.

“This is yet another heartbreaking and avoidable death, and it represents a colossal failure by [the Correction Department] to protect our clients in its custody,” said Tina Luongo, attorney-in-charge of the criminal defense practice at the Legal Aid Society.

“We demand answers, and call for an immediate, swift, thorough and independent investigation into Ryan Wilson’s tragic passing,” Luongo said. “His family and community deserve nothing less, and we extend our deepest sympathy to them on his loss.”

Wilson (photo) was arrested Oct. 27 on robbery charges. When asked about the charges, a Manhattan district attorney spokesman — without realizing Wilson was dead — said that he had been approved for release and “the only thing” keeping him incarcerated was a $1 parole hold on an open misdemeanor case.

“He should’ve been under watch,” Wilson’s sister Elayna Manson, 35, told The News on Monday, noting that her brother suffered from bipolar disorder and that his diagnosis was documented in court records.

Legal Aid is also demanding answers in the death of Christopher Cruz, who died Oct. 9 while being held before trial at the Anna M. Kross Center at Rikers Island.

Cruz’s cause of death was pending autopsy results from the city’s medical examiner.
