A Brooklyn man on an e-scooter was chased in East Flatbush by plainclothes cops who nearly crashed their car into him before arresting him in a takedown that broke his nose, according to a lawsuit filed in Brooklyn Federal Court.

Justin King, 29, was riding his scooter May 25, 2019, to get ice for a family barbecue when he alleged a Chevrolet Impala suddenly tried to knock him off his scooter.

“I avoid the car that tried to knock me off my scooter. I realize I’m being chased by a Spanish guy in a uniform carrying a gun saying, ‘If you don’t stop I’m going to shoot you in your back.’ This is before I even realized they were NYPD officers,” King told the Daily News.

Instead of stopping, King claimed he sped off because he didn’t know who was chasing him. He said after a few blocks, however, he realized his pursuers were plainclothes officers. He said he pulled his scooter up onto the curb on Flatbush Ave. and lay down with his arms and legs spread apart.

“The same Spanish guy hopped out, came toward me and kneed me in my face and then put the cuffs on me after. Talking about, ‘Oh yeah, why you run from me?’ ” King alleged.

King’s bloodied nose was fractured in several places, according to medical records from the next day obtained by The News.

After being hauled into the 67th Precinct stationhouse, he was taken to Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center.

King was charged with reckless endangerment and obstructing governmental administration as well as for not wearing a helmet.

Cops allege he was driving the wrong way down the street and that he went in excess of 40 mph. King says his scooter only goes a maximum of 25 mph.

King, a father of one, denies he was committing any crimes when the police chase began. After showing up in court a few times, all charges were dropped against him. He filed a complaint with the Civilian Complaint Review Board.

The NYPD declined to comment.

“They know they messed up, man. It was really a terrible day,” King told The News. “My nose is still bruised up and swollen up.”
