SPLIT HAPPENS, SEZ DAVIDSON & HIS EX

- BY KARU F. DANIELS

Since he’s been famous, a lot has been said about Pete Davidson and his love life.

The “Saturday Night Live” breakout, who has remained mostly mum about his romantic interludes, has broken his silence about his ex Cazzie David’s recently released memoir, “No One Asked for This,” in which she puts their 2018 breakup on blast.

“I’m really happy for her. It did well, and, you know, we’re cool. I wish her nothing but the best,” Davidson, 27, told Insider reporter Claudia Willen. “I think she wrote a really funny book and I hope it stays on the chart.”

Published by HMH Books in November, “No One Asked for This” debuted as the No. 2 book on The New York Times’ paperback nonfiction bestseller list on Dec. 6.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, David — who’s the daughter of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” creator Larry David — confirmed that the exes are now friends and she showed Davidson the essay before it was published.

In “Erase Me,” David wrote a detailed account of her 2018 breakup with the “King of Staten Island” star.

She claimed that the comedian called off their two-year relationship via text.

The next day, she checked social media and discovered that Davidson had covered the tattoos dedicated to her and moved on with pop superstar Ariana Grande.

“I felt like I was being terrorized,” the scandalized David wrote.

She described to The Times that it was a “really pivotal moment” in her life.

“And writing about it has caused me a ton of anxiety, especially because I talk so much about hating the attention it brought me,” the 26-year-old Boston native shared. “Why would I bring more attention to myself by writing about it? But there’s nothing that’s gonna be worse than what I already experienced with that.”

At the end of “No One Asked for This,” David included a note thanking Davidson in the acknowledgments.

“Pete. I love you. Thank you for being encouraging when you did not have to be. Your bravery inspires me and your friendship means the world to me,” she wrote.

Speaking of bravery, Davidson — who was also linked to 47-year-old Kate Beckinsdale since the breakup with David, recently endorsed an unlicensed sex toy being sold on Esty bearing his likeness.
