Tat’s all for shoot susp in drug deal

- BY THOMAS TRACY

Police have arrested a suspect they say killed one man and wounded two others in a drug-related caught-on-video shooting at a Brooklyn housing project, officials said Tuesday.

Although the gunmen were clothed head to toe, detectives identified Alexander Williams, 24, from a tattoo that could be seen in one of the surveillance videos recovered by police following the September shooting at the Lafayette Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant, sources said.

Williams, a known gang member from Brownsville, was arrested in Crown Heights on Monday and charged with murder, attempted murder, assault and weapons possession.

His arraignment at Brooklyn Criminal Court was pending Tuesday.

Police said Williams and another man allegedly opened fire on three men on Dekalb Ave. near Kent Ave. about 4:40 p.m. Sept. 8. One of the victims — 25-year-old Tylee Felder — died after he was shot in the head.

The other two victims survived. Arvante White, 24, was shot in the chest and taken to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, while Shatik Watson, 23, was hit in the leg and taken to Bellevue Hospital.

Video released by police shows one gunman wearing a dark red hoodie, dark pants with white stripes on the sides and a

surgical mask over his nose and mouth. The other gunman has on an orange top with a black hood. His eyes are hidden behind sunglasses.

The duo fire off multiple shots, the footage shows, at one point leaning over scaffolding to shoot one victim on the ground, whose hat flies off as he drops a cell phone.

The pair flee, after the gunman in orange fires off a few more shots before running away.

After an extensive canvass of the area, police found video footage that shows the identifiable tattoo, sources said.

Police believe the shooting involved gang members and was over the drug trade in the Lafayette Houses.

Williams’ accomplice is still being sought.
