- BY JOHN ANNESE

A lunatic with a bat went on a crazed crime spree across lower Manhattan, assaulting 10 people and carjacking two vehicles before police subdued him with a Taser, cops said Sunday.

Bryan Thompson started his rampage at the Canal St. subway station on the 1 line, slugging two men, ages 56 and 18, and a woman, 39, with a wooden stick as they waited for a train about 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, police said.

Thompson, 43, of Atlantic City, left his victims bleeding and cut up — and clobbered a 39-year-old MTA worker as he ran upstairs to the street, cops said.

Thompson then attacked a 37-year-old man inside his parked, running car, cops said. The frightened driver fled and Thompson took his car, speeding off and crashing into two parked vehicles on Laight St. at Sixth Ave., cops said.

He got out of the crashed car and found a 2006 Ford Taurus nearby, breaking the rear window in a failed attempted to pull a woman out of the driver’s seat.

Undaunted, Thompson found his next victim, a 32-year-old woman behind the wheel of a 2020 Jeep Grandd Cherokee,hk cops said. He broke the side window, sending glass flying at the driver, cops said.

He couldn’t get into that vehicle either, so he kept on running and attacked two people on the street, a 42-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, raining down blows with his bat, cops said.

His assault broke the man’s arm, police said.

Thompsonh ffoundd hihis 10thh victim, a 33-year-old man, in a parked 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee at West Broadway and Murray St., cops said.

He struck the vehicle with his bat and the man bailed out and ran off. Thompson took the Jeep and started driving, cops said.

Police found him just after 7:10 p.m. headed uptown on the West Side Highway near W. 24th St.

Thompsonh crashedhd intoi an NYPD cruiser, then hit the center median of the roadway and came to a stop, cops said.

He refused to get out of the vehicle, leading cops to break a window and zap him with a Taser, police said.

Police took Thompson to Bellevue Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.

Charges against him were pending.
