Imbalanced depiction Stark contrast Cover flop Our beloved, betrayed Glaring omission

Kings Mountain, N.C.: I want to say that I’m outraged by this portrayal. DMX was a troubled man who endured abuse as a child and lived to be an influential man through his music. What the Daily News needs to do is revise your April 10 cover because the prince seems like he’s being highlighted as a better person. A simple “remembering the two” would have been acceptable. Next time do some research on this guy. Plus, you could have at least made an effort to find a photo with him wearing a suit (he has plenty of photos, a simple Google search wouldn’t hurt). He looks as if he’s a bum, meanwhile the prince has on this Monopoly attire. That’s lazy research and this company did a horrible memorial for Earl Simmons. Kistricia Bennett

Akron, Ohio: Your Saturday front page with the death of Prince Phillip and DMX was highly disgusting. “Brilliant but troubled,” like seriously? What was the point in adding “troubled”? Y’all find any way to shine a dark light on Blacks, alive or dead, and it’s sickening. Be ashamed.

Mount Kisco, N.Y.: Saturday’s front page showing Prince Philip and DMX side by side was a poor editorial decision. “The Prince and the Rapper”? Come on, guys. You can do better.

Brooklyn: I am really appalled at your front page on Saturday. The prince was “beloved” in England, and he has many skeletons in his closet that you guys won’t state on the front page of your $3 paper. Why can’t you guys just write, “Beloved hip-hop legend DMX dead at 50” instead of trying to demoralize DMX? Why? Because he’s Black? You guys are sad and I will never read the Daily News again. More heart than most

Manhattan: RIP to legendary lyricist DMX. One of his strongest attributes as an MC was the ability to not be afraid to display vulnerability with no shame, which was and still is taboo in hip-hop. His expression of raw energy and emotions was iconic and anyone who saw him perform can co-sign that. Omar Branch

Brooklyn: It was predictable but still odious that in your article about the tributes to Prince Philip from global leaders (and even an actor), you canceled Donald Trump. Trump wrote a long and elegant tribute to the prince in which he said, among many other things, that Philip’s death is “an irreplaceable loss for Great Britain, and for all who hold dear our civilization.” But while you fawned over lengthy messages you showcased from the Bidens, the Obamas and Nancy Pelosi, and even found room for Putin and Erdogan, there wasn’t a syllable in the article from our most recent ex-president. I am not a Trumper, but I recoil in disgust from the behavior of arbiters of our culture who are erasing Trump’s name from our history out of spite and venom. The Ministry of Truth is proud of you.
