A Bronx man was gunned down early Tuesday on the sidewalk just four floors below the apartment that he shared with his devastated sister and other relatives, officials said.

Elvys Familia, 38, was fatally blasted in the chest on Walton Ave. near E. 172nd St. in Mount Eden about 4:25 a.m., with his older sister suggesting the aspiring electrician was killed in a romantic dispute.

“The police are just saying bits and pieces,” said sibling Miosotis Diaz, 47, who raised Elvys from the time he was a kid. “They were saying he was dating a lady over there or something.”

The sister said her brother was a loving father to an 11-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, with both children devastated by the slaying of their devoted dad.

“They’re distraught,” said

nephew Luis Familia, 24, who gathered with other mourning relatives in the fourth-floor apartment. “They’ve been crying for a while now.”

First responders found the victim sprawled on the sidewalk

outside the apartment building, with the victim dying after EMS rushed him to BronxCare Health System, officials said.

Miosotis Diaz, slumped in a chair and weeping, said her family just buried their matriarch five months ago and came together for a cookout in her memory just this past Saturday. One of the slain man’s brothers also died earlier this year of COVID-19. “I lost a friend!” she said in Spanish as family members tried to console her. “I used to take care of him every day! I brought him to school. I took care of him. I raised him.”

No arrests were made as the investigation continued.

Nephew Ethan Diaz, 17, recalled his uncle studying diligently to land work as an electrician.

“You could tell that he was actually determined, he wanted to do something in life,” said Diaz, adding that he would miss Familia’s “love, his passion.”

Diaz’s twin brother, Evan, said the victim was a charismatic man with no enemies.

“He was a very outgoing person, very loving, you could feel his love radiate from across the room,” said Evan. “He was friendly with everyone.”
