2 gangbanger brothers shot, 1 dead, in execution-style ‘hit’ at Bx. project

Two gang-member brothers were shot Tuesday night, one fatally, outside the Bronx public housing complex where they lived, police sources said.

The brothers were sitting on a bench in front of their building in the Monroe Houses on Taylor Ave. when an assassin walked up and shot them both in the head, a witness told the Daily News.

“They were sitting on the bench in front of the building, just chilling like us,” said one friend, a woman who witnessed the shooting. “He walked up on them and shot point-blank. It was like he did it before. It was a hit.”

The shooter then put the gun into a shopping bag and headed toward Lafayette Ave., where he made his escape.

The brothers are identified by sources and a witness as Malik (Leaky) and Price (P-Black) Tunstall, 22 and 24.

Price Tunstall died of his wound at Jacobi Hospital; his younger brother was in critical condition, cops said.

The friend told the News the younger brother’s prospects looked grim.

“Malik was shot in the head, and it didn’t go through. He was done,” she said. “Price was still breathing.”

Both were indicted by federal prosecutors in January 2020 alongside nine other members of the Monroe Houses Crew — accused of being part of a violent gang that sold crack cocaine at the Soundview development and targeted rival gang members with guns and knives.

Both were released on bond with ankle monitoring devices as their case worked its way through Manhattan Federal Court.

Price Tunstall had a 3-year-old son, their friend said; Malik is expecting to become a dad.

Cops were still looking for the shooter Tuesday night.
